What is Selank Nasal?

Selank Nasal is a 10 mg research peptide presentation: 10 mg of Selank dissolved in 15 ml of solution and packaged in a spray bottle. PEPTYVA makes it in Mexico. Peptides Vallarta supplies it for research use only (RUO): it is not a medicine and must not be used in people or animals.

The peptide is the same tuftsin analog found in our Selank 10 mg research peptide vial. What changes is the format: a ready-made solution instead of a vial. PEPTYVA gives the content as 10 mg in each 15 ml bottle; confirm any other solution components on the lot documentation. It is also not the Russian nasal-drop medicine described in the literature.

Why does the delivery route matter in Selank research?

Route changes how much peptide reaches a tissue and what it breaks down into, so Selank findings are route-specific. Researchers have compared routes directly in animals.

A 2008 rat study tracked tritium-labeled Selank and Pro-Gly-Pro after intraperitoneal, intranasal, intragastric and intravenous delivery. The authors reported the intranasal route as optimal for delivering these peptides to the central nervous system, and found high uptake in gastric tissue with every route.

A 2016 mouse study compared intranasal and intraperitoneal Selank. Each route produced a different receptor-binding profile: intraperitoneal delivery changed GABA-receptor binding sites in the frontal cortex, while intranasal delivery changed NMDA-receptor binding sites in the hippocampus. The authors linked the difference to pharmacokinetics and biotransformation.

The behavioral effects appeared only in BALB/c mice, a strain with lower exploratory activity and higher anxiety-like behavior at baseline than C57BL/6 mice. Strain and route both shaped the findings, which is why rodent route data cannot be read as a guide to any other setting.

What human evidence relates to the intranasal route?

Human data are limited and come from a different product. A 2026 narrative review describes Selank as formulated in nasal drops and approved as a drug in Russia, but not elsewhere. It also describes the human Selank studies in generalized anxiety disorder as intranasal studies.

Those studies were small and mostly published in Russian. A Russian nasal-drop medicine and this PEPTYVA solution differ in concentration, components and container, so data from one cannot be transferred to the other.

How does Selank Nasal compare with the Selank vial?

The two products share one peptide but differ in presentation, and each lot carries its own documentation.

What is the regulatory status of Selank Nasal?

No FDA-approved Selank product exists in Drugs@FDA. FDA states that compounded drugs containing selank acetate may pose a risk of immunogenicity for certain routes, and its safety-risk page lists the substance among nominations that were withdrawn.
